About the Role
As a Senior SOC Manager, you will play a pivotal role in uplifting and improving an established Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment. You will lead and manage the enhancement of SOC capabilities, processes, and operational efficiency while engaging with clients and managing internal teams. Your expertise in SOC management, security monitoring, and incident response will ensure the SOC meets industry best practices and compliance standards. This role offers a flexible engagement for a 6–12-month contract, with an opportunity to transition into a permanent position, with an immediate start.
Salary Range
Salaries for Senior SOC Manager roles range from $120-155/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Operational Manager for Squad and Inner SOC capabilities.
Mentor and develop Squad members, ensuring continuous capability enhancement.
Lead IT engagements with the Director of Cyber Security, Adecco, and other stakeholders.
Manage and improve the performance uplift and operational effectiveness of the Inner SOC.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) support to workshop and redefine SOC service requirements.
Oversee SOC strategies, policies, and frameworks to optimize securit y monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence.
Conduct security assessments and gap analysis to identify and address areas for improvement.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve SOC performance.
Ensure compliance with industry security standards and regulatory frameworks.
Skills and Experience
Security Clearance: NV1
Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Relevant SOC Management Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH, SOC Analyst Certifications).
Experience in Defence cybersecurity environments (preferred but not mandatory).
Proven track record in uplifting and improving SOC environments.
Strong expertise in managing SOC operations and mentoring security teams.
In-depth knowledge of SIEM, threat intelligence, incident response, and security monitoring tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to workshop and redefine SOC service requirements.
Experience in developing SOC policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Ability to drive operational and strategic cybersecurity initiatives.

Generate and maintain cyber threat models from Defence data sources
Develop and document techniques and procedures to conduct cyber threat assessments
Provide expert guidance to internal Defence stakeholders on terrain management practices
Liaise with security, GRC, and data teams to align frameworks and documentation
Support audit and assurance efforts through proactive governance of cyber data
Skills and Experience
Minimum NV2 Security Clearance required
Experience managing cyber data and terrain artefacts in Defence or secure ICT environments
Knowledge of CTL, cyber terrain models, and relevant Defence frameworks
Proficiency in developing SRMPs, SSPs, E8 checklists and other security documentation
Strong analytical and documentation skills, especially around compliance and assurance
Tertiary qualifications in Cybersecurity, Information Security, ICT, or Data Management
Certifications such as ISO 27001, CRISC, or CISSP, CEH are highly regarded

Skills and Experience
